MPL-PH to Returns for Season 12

The biggest Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) esports tournaments in the Philippines, the MPL-PH is set to return in September with new changes and roster updates.

The MPL-PH Season 12 will start on September 8, 2023, and will feature a shorter schedule of only six weeks. The tournament will also welcome back offline spectators, with a limited capacity of 500 people per day.

“With the surprising roster updates, new emblem system, and comeback of iconic players for both MPL and MDL Philippines, this season will definitely be historic. It is not the end of the country’s domination in the world of MLBB esports yet, as all teams are gigil to prove that we remain to be the strongest region, especially now that we are hosting the upcoming M5 World Championship this December,” says MOONTON Games Marketing Lead for Esports Harry Leonardo.

One of the biggest roster updates for the MPL-PH Season 12 is the return of CJ “Ribo” Ribo, a Hall of Legends inductee and one of the most decorated players in the history of MLBB esports. Ribo will be joining Smart Omega alongside Joshua “Ch4knu” Mangilog.

Blacklist International’s power duo Johnmar “OhMyV33nus” Villaluna and Danerie “Wise” Del Rosario will be taking a break from the MPL-PH Season 12. Bren Esports, on the other hand, will be keeping their SEA Games 2023 lineup. ECHO will also be keeping their main five intact, while MINANA EVOS will be fielding a ten-player roster.

In addition to the roster updates, the MPL-PH Season 12 will also be introducing a new emblem system and never-before-seen strategies. The league will also be implementing various programs for the community, such as MPL-PH Battle Trips, which will give students and community members an opportunity to learn more about mounting an esports broadcast and taking up careers in the esports industry.

Both the MPL-PH Season 12 and MDL-PH Season 2 will be presented by Smart as the official tournament telco partner. FWD Life Insurance Philippines joins the pool of official sponsors as the official insurer along with Infinix the official mobile partner.
