Agent Tier List for Valorant Patch 5.12

Agent Tier List for Valorant Patch 5.12

It has been 48 hours since Valorant released patch 5.12. There were a lot of changes to the agents and to the game’s meta. The last time we did the tier list there were minimal changes to the ranks. But this patch will offer up more than it’s fair share of changes.

Let’s begin the tier list at the bottom.

C Tier

The lone Agent at the bottom of the ranking this patch is Harbor. I know this is a bit painful for Valorant as their latest agent is bringing up the rear. But he did get a buff this patch but unfortunately among all the other controllers he still lags behind. The others have far more utility and use in the current Meta.

B Tier

There has already been some movement in B Tier. These agents are not bad, they are just have a high learning curve and very situational. The Agent Tier patch 5.12 is a bit a different for the previous one and it starts showing. Here it really shows. There a handful of agent that were not change like Neon and Brimstone. Again these agents are not bad they are just very specific to team composition and play style.

Phoenix

First of all we can now see Phoenix after a long time at the bottom finally gets promoted. He did get minor buff this patch with Blaze cost decreased 200 to 150. But the increase in tier is more of what happened to the other agents than what he got.

Brimstone

The OG of the agents Brimstone receives a demotion this patch. Granted he is very usable but the other smokers have way more utility than him at the moment. And with the patch 5.12 there are a lot better options in smoker than him.

A Tier

Now, where to begin in A Tier? There are 12 agents we packed in Tier A. Let’s start with the biggest change this patch

Chamber

Chamber’s update is too many to list down, but then again here we go.

  • Headhunter (Q)
    • Updated Stability Curve
      • Spread increased after 2nd bullet, when spamming. This is explicitly meant to reduce low-precision body-shot spam as an effective combat measure at range.
  • Rendezvous (E)
    • Chamber now places a single anchor that can be teleported to while inside its range
      • Radius increased 7.5m >>> 13m
    • Removed teleport activation height restriction
      • You can teleport to the Anchor while on different verticality so long as you are within its radius.
    • Increased weapon equip time after teleporting 0.4s >>> 0.7s
      • Headhunter is unaffected by this change
    • Destroying Rendezvous teleport anchor now disables it for the remainder of the round, instead of being placed on a cooldown.
    • Chamber no longer incurs an additional cooldown when recalling his Anchor after teleporting.
    • Health decreased 80 >>> 50
  • Trademark (C)
    • The trap is now range restricted
      • Trademark will disable when Chamber moves out of range, and reactivate once he is inside.
    • Can now be recalled mid-round without line of sight
    • 30s cooldown on recall
    • Destruction remains permanent
    • Initial Arm Time increased 2s >>> 4s
    • Health Increased 1 >>> 20
  • Tour De Force (X)
    • Fire rate decreased by 57.5%
  • Slow
    • This applies to both Trademark and Tour De Force
      • Reduced duration 6s >>> 4s

Lifted directly from Valorant patch notes the plethora of changes is astounding. But our favorite French agent has been ruling the meta for quite a while. We did mention this in our our feature but then again chamber has been nerfed before. But are we really leaving the Chamber meta? Only time will tell but after 48 hours we think that we are.

Kay/0

The bane of Chamber mains. Kay/0 easily disables headhunter and Tour De Force with with either the Zero/Point or his Null/cmd. But with every ying there is a yang. The reduction and nerfing of Chamber, Kay/0 followed suit.

  • ZERO/POINT (E)
    • Health increased 1 >>> 20
  • NULL/cmd (C)
    • Ultimate points increased 7 >>> 8

Reyna

Reyna has been creeping up the ranking for quite a while now. Again like Phoenix, Reyna moved up in rankings with the nerfing of the other agents. Her Leer is still top notch and still a top tier blind that lasts longer and has more life that any other blind effect.

Sage

Sage returns to the A tier after a long time in the B tier. Her healing orb now restores 100% health points if she heals her allies, and only 30 if she uses it to heal herself. This is a very powerful but albeit situational. But in a team setting the benefit out weights the drawback.

  • Barrier Orb (C)
    • Fortify delay increased 3.0s >>> 3.3s
  • Healing Orb (E)
    • Self heal total amount decreased 60HP >>> 30HP
    • Ally heal total amount increased 60HP>>> 100HP

There other agents that crowds A tier has been given minor tweaks here and there that made them stay of be promoted. This give credence to what Riot Games are focusing on which is game balancing.

S Tier

Now we go the the S tier. The only agent we have left now is Viper. You might be thinking why Viper? Didn’t she ger a nerf by getting a rise in the Ultimate points required? But again with everything that happened in the game, Viper now stands alone. Her area denials and now ability to duck and dive in her ultimate smoke she has the most utility for the controllers in the game.

  • Viper’s Pit (X)
    • Smoke integrity regen time 5.0 >>> 25.0
    • Max time out of smoke decreased 15.0 >>> 8.0
    • Ultimate points required 7 >>> 8

Again this is the opinions of our players and team. But our assessment is also based on organized and professional play. We would like to hear from you. comment below if you agree or disagree with our tiers.
