M5 World Championship introduces Wild Card format

The M5 World Championship is the fifth installment of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) world championship. This year, the tournament will introduce a new Wild Card format in addition to the Group and Knockout stages. The Wild Card will feature eight regions from emerging and mature markets, giving them a chance to compete for a spot in the Group Stage.

The Wild Card will be hosted in November in a different country each year. The Group and Knockout Stages will then be held in the Philippines in December. The M5 Champion will walk away with the lion’s share of the USD 900,000 prize pool.

The list of confirmed regions for the Wild Card so far includes Malaysia, Mekong, Latin America, South Asia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia (EECA), and Mongolia. The remaining two regions will be announced at a later date.

The introduction of the Wild Card format is a significant move for the MLBB esports ecosystem. It will provide more opportunities for teams from emerging markets to compete at the highest level. It will also help to promote cross-regional competition and collaboration.

The M5 World Championship is shaping up to be the biggest and most exciting MLBB tournament yet. With the introduction of the Wild Card format, it is sure to attract even more attention from fans around the world.

The Wild Card format is a great way to give teams from emerging markets a chance to compete at the highest level. It will also help to promote cross-regional competition and collaboration. I am excited to see how the Wild Card format unfolds and how it impacts the MLBB esports ecosystem.
