Predator League 2021 is all set for April
For the first time ever the Predator League will be a fully online event. This was the main point which was delivered by Acer Philippines in a recent launch of the Predator League. Predator League 2021 is slated to be on April 6-11, 2021.
The teams who have claimed spots in last year’s Predator League 2020 are the first ones to be qualified. The remaining teams that will complete the tournament’s line up will be invited directly by Acer. It was unfortunate last year at the initial onset of the COVID-19 pandemic that the Predator League 2020 was one of the first cancelled esports tournament.
“The decision to host the Asia Pacific Predator League fully online, instead of a cancellation, demonstrates Acer’s commitment to the gaming community,” said Andrew Hou, President of Acer Pan Asia Pacific Regional Operations. “With the ongoing COVID-19 situation, we made the decision to move the competition to Spring 2021 for the safety and best interests of the tournament’s competitors, fans, spectators and staff.”
This year, the league has been divided into four sub-tournaments. The teams will be pre-assigned based on their geographical location:
- APAC Predator League 2020/21 Grand Final Dota 2 Asia
- APAC Predator League 2020/21 Grand Final Dota 2 APAC
- APAC Predator League 2020/21 Grand Final PUBG Asia
- APAC Predator League 2020/21 Grand Final PUBG APAC
A sum of US$400,000 is pooled across the competitions of the APAC Predator League 2020/21.
The exciting matches which esports fans have been waiting for since 2020 will be set to unfold online. We can barely control our excitement that the Predator League is back. We will be updating everyone with the results coming out of the tournament. Looks like esports has not stopped it has just moved the platform to a virtual space, we have known about this for quite sometime.
