Xipto Esports settles for 4th in VALORANT Game Changers C’ship 24 after 1-2 loss to MIBR

BERLIN, Germany – APAC’s last hope Xipto Esports bid their goodbyes to the 2024 VALORANT Game Changers Championship after suffering a 1-2 defeat against Brazilian outfit Made In Brazil GC in the lower bracket semifinals Saturday dawn (PH time).

It was the second time the roster, sans Ryona Shannen “Tarathiel” Tan, claimed the fourth spot as they ended in the same place under Team SMG in last year’s Game Changers Championship.

Xipto started on the wrong foot in Bind, only winning in round 4 in the entire first half as MIBR dominated them 11-1. including seven straight wins.

However, the Southeast Asian representatives showed signs of life, winning the next three rounds before MIBR closed the match with two straight wins in 16 and 17.

Nicolas “srN” Niederauer’s Raze led the Brazil outfit with 19 kills, while Alexandria “Alexy” Francisco put up 13 kills to lead the APAC champs.

It was a completely different story in Game 2 as Xipto went inside Split guns blazing for a 9-3 outing at the break, including six consecutive wins.

MIBR put up a fight back in the second half but wasn’t enough to topple Xipto’s huge lead as Alexy again dished 22 kills with Raze and Odella “enerii” Abraham’s Neon put 19 and assisted nine.

With the game decided at Sunset, Xipto’s sunset began as MIBR squashed an early 2-0 lead from the APAC outfit to make it 8-4 for the Brazilians.

snN and the rest of MIBR built on their huge lead in the second half, winning the next four of five rounds to secure a spot in the lower bracket finals against EMEA’s G2 Gozen.

Camille “Kamiyu” Enriquez’s 14 kills and 226 ACS with Kayo weren’t enough as they settled for a USD 50,000 prize money while missing the podium.

XIP’s VCT tormentors Shopify Rebellion meanwhile are waiting on the Grand Finals for the winner between G2 and MIBR.
