Paper Rex signs PatMen to bolster their lineup ahead of VCT 2025 Pacific Stage 1
SEOUL, South Korea – Paper Rex officially signs Filipino VALORANT player Patrick “PatMen” Mendoza as the sixth member of its active roster, the organization announced today.
The move comes after the team’s early exit from the VCT Pacific Kickoff 2025, signaling a potential shift in strategy ahead of the competitive season. Patmen will be set to integrate with the team in Seoul in the coming weeks, pending completion of logistical arrangements and paperwork.
Fresh Blood for Paper Rex
PatMen joins the Singaporean organization from NAOS Esports, where he played a key role in the team’s VCT Challengers 2025 Southeast Asia campaign. A flexible and well-rounded player, he specializes in initiator and duelist roles, bringing aggressive entry potential and clutch playmaking to the squad.
Before his stint with NAOS, PatMen was part of the ZOL Esports roster, which secured the championship at the Predator League Philippines 2024, a VCT offseason event. His ability to adapt to multiple agents and aggressive playstyle has made him one of the most promising talents in Southeast Asia.
Paper Rex Looks to Bounce Back
With PatMen’s addition, Paper Rex looks to regain its competitive edge after a disappointing VCT Pacific Kickoff 2025 run.
The team suffered a 0-2 lower-bracket defeat to DetonatioN FocusMe, marking their first early elimination from an international event since 2021. The setback has led to speculation about roster changes and strategic adjustments ahead of the next phase of the VCT season.
“As VALORANT reaches its 5th year, it’s no surprise that the VCT circuit is more competitive than ever, and we must energize and reinvigorate ourselves,” said Harley “dsn” Örwall, Paper Rex’s Chief Gaming Officer. “An injection of new blood with young eyes brings fresh perspectives to our game. Adding PatMen to the PRX family allows us to widen our experiments with a greater breadth of playstyles.”
Paper Rex’s Updated Roster
With PatMen onboard, Paper Rex now fields the following lineup:
- Khalish “d4v41” Rusyaidee
- Jason “f0rsakeN” Susanto
- Aaron “mindfreak” Leonhart
- Ilya “something” Petrov
- Wang “Jinggg” Jing Jie
- Patrick “PatMen” Mendoza
- Alexandre “alecks” Sallé (Head Coach)
- Kumeresan “Tommy” Ramani (Team Manager)
Paper Rex is expected to debut its updated roster in VCT Pacific Stage 1, where they will look to bounce back from their early exit and reclaim their status as a top contender in the region.
