TNC, Falcons PH, Liquid PH secure sweep wins as MPL Philippines Season 15 intensifies

MAKATI, Philippines – Week 2 of MPL Philippines Season 15 delivered yet another thrilling set of matches on Saturday, with TNC Pro Team, Team Falcons PH, and Team Liquid PH securing dominant victories to strengthen their campaigns.

All three teams swept their respective matchups, as TNC took down a struggling Smart Omega, Falcons PH dominated Twisted Minds PH, and Liquid PH narrowly escaped an upset from AP.Bren, all ending in 2-0 series wins.

TNC’s Statement Victory Against Smart Omega

TNC Pro Team kicked off their series in dominant fashion, displaying superior map control in Game 1 that left Smart Omega struggling to respond. Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera’s Selena pick proved instrumental, as he tallied three kills and eight assists, playing a crucial role in setting up key fights for TNC.

Meanwhile, Jayson “UK1R” Alupit had a promising showing for Smart Omega, posting a 4/1/4 stat line on Beatrix, but his team faltered in the late game, allowing TNC to secure major objectives and two turtles to close out the opener.

In Game 2, Justine “Zaida” Palma’s Nolan took control of the match, delivering a six-kill, four-assist performance that led TNC to a 15-minute victory. Lance “LanceCy” Cunanan’s Yve also made a major impact, contributing one kill and 10 assists to further cement the Phoenixes’ dominance.

On the other side, Joshua “Ch4knu” Mangilog had another rough outing, finishing with three assists and five deaths on Tigreal, while Jomari “Jowm” Pingol stood as the lone bright spot for Omega, managing four kills and a couple of assists despite the defeat.

Team Falcons PH Overpowers Twisted Minds PH

Twisted Minds PH’s struggles continued in the day’s second series, as they suffered another one-sided loss to Team Falcons PH.

Game 1 saw the Falcons cruise to a 10-4 victory in just 15 minutes, with Marco “Super Marco” Requitiano maintaining his hot streak on Granger, securing four kills and three assists en route to MVP honors.

Game 2 proved even more disastrous for Twisted Minds PH, as they conceded 20 kills while only managing seven in a match that lasted just 14 minutes.

The return of Escalera to the main lineup was spoiled, as he endured a tough night, finishing with eight deaths, seven assists, and no kills across both games.

Liquid PH Survives AP.Bren’s Upset Bid

Team Liquid PH continued their rise in Week 2, but they faced a tough challenge against newcomers AP.Bren before ultimately securing another sweep to cap off Day 2.

Sanford “Sanford” Vinuya’s Hilda proved to be the game-changer in Game 1, leading Liquid PH to a 21-7 victory with five kills and six assists. Meanwhile, Alston “Sanji” Pabico’s Luo Yi played a pivotal role in team fights, recording a 3/1/13 performance to help secure the win.

Game 2 saw AP.Bren put up a much stronger fight, with Landher “Der” San Gabriel’s Badang stepping up by securing two kills and seven assists. Despite their efforts, AP.Bren’s objective control wasn’t enough, as Liquid PH capitalized on key mistakes.

Although AP.Bren secured all three lords, Liquid PH executed a decisive four-man wipe, leaving only Jefferdson “kkd0t” Mogol to defend, but to no avail, as Liquid PH closed the series.

Sunday Showdowns: Contrasting Missions for Teams

As MPL PH Week 2 continues into Sunday, TNC Pro Team looks to extend their momentum with a third straight win, opening Day 3 against a desperate Twisted Minds PH, who hope to end their three-match losing skid.

Meanwhile, Smart Omega will aim to avoid a third consecutive defeat, but their task won’t be easy, as they go head-to-head with a red-hot Team Liquid PH, who will be looking to solidify their spot at the top of the standings.
