ZOL falls to Thailand’s FULL SENSE in VCL SEA Split 3 campaign

ZOL Esports’ momentum fell short as they conceded a 0-2 series defeat against Thailand’s representative FULL SENSE in the winners’ match of the VALORANT Challengers SEA Split 3 Stage 2 on Thursday.

Fresh from their close win against The Overdogs last Tuesday, the all-Pinoy team went against a new-look Thai side who had enlisted Sutthichai “Potter” Promsrikaew and Wattanachok “aLerT” Yingnakorn ahead of the tournament.

The Filipino squad found themselves within close range, trailing 2-4, but FULL SENSE grabbed six consecutive rounds to put ZOL at a difficult 2-10 deficit.

Coach John “JCL” Lim’s boys tried to fight back, winning three of the next four rounds, but the Thais closed the first game with two more wins, ending the game 13-5.

Christian “ZYND” Lopez’s Jett led ZOL with 12 kills and Kevin “kevzii” Dingal put up 14, but Sutthichai “Potter” Promsrikaew’s Neon went berserk with 20 kills, including four first kills.

FULL SENSE continued its momentum in the second game, but ZOL showed more fight back, taking the game within close range 5-7 before the technical break.

The Filipinos got the next two rounds to even the game with seven rounds apiece.

Both teams went into a back-and-fort affair, getting to another deadlock 11-11, before FULL SENSE got the upper and defeated ZOL in the last two rounds to grab the series and the ticket to the advancement round.

Patrick “Patmen” Mendoza led ZOL with 23 kills, including eight first kills, and Emmanuel “JEEE” Buenavidez put up 20, but Potter’s 29 kills and Chanawin “JohnOlsen” Nakchain 23 stopped the Filipino quintet off their tracks.

ZOL will be relegated to the decider against the winner of the match between HKTW’s representatives 123 and Indonesia’s The Overdogs.
