PH Game Server Goes Live for VALORANT This August

MANILA – Riot Games is bringing a new VALORANT game server to the Philippines, with the Manila server set to go live alongside patch 11.04 on August 19. The new server aimed to improve connectivity, reduce ping, and enhance gameplay for Filipino players.

The Manila server became the sixth selectable server in the Asia Pacific Shard. Riot Games said the move followed a steady growth of its Southeast Asian community, particularly in the Philippines, over the past five years.

“By launching a new game server in Manila we hope to lower ping, reduce instability and improve overall connectivity for our Filipino community,” said Riot Games.

Prior to this launch, most Filipino players played on the Hong Kong server, which, while supporting the region’s growth, had infrastructure limitations that affected game quality. The Manila server sought to address these issues by offering an alternative that could deliver more stable and responsive matches.

Riot also assured that the Hong Kong server remained unaffected. Player populations across Asia Pacific stayed healthy, and matchmaking quality in Hong Kong was expected to hold even with Filipino players shifting to Manila. Those preferring to stay on the Hong Kong server could still do so without restrictions.

In competitive play, the Manila server did not affect Premier eligibility. Top-performing Premier teams using the Manila server still competed in the Asia zone and fell under the Challengers Southeast Asia league.

Riot thanked its Filipino community for its continued support as teams worked to prepare the server ahead of its August 19 launch.
