Team Liquid PH Weathers TNC’s ‘Storm’; AP.Bren Swarms Struggling Smart Omega
MAKATI – Week Four of MPL Philippines Season 15 kicked off with a bang, as Team Liquid Philippines and AP.Bren secured crucial victories, pushing the league past its halfway mark at the Green Sun Hotel.
The Cavalry held firm against TNC Pro Team’s tempestuous surge, while the Hive finally tasted victory, overwhelming a struggling Smart Omega.
Knights Weather the Storm
TNC Pro Team’s bold roster shake-up, featuring the return of Benedict “Bennyqt” Gonzales to the gold lane, initially promised a fresh surge of energy. However, Team Liquid PH’s resilience proved too much.
Game 1 saw Kiel “Oheb” Soriano’s Harith slice through TNC’s defenses, racking up an impressive 11 kills. The midlane duo of Alston “Sanji” Pabico and Jaypee “Jaypee” dela Cruz orchestrated the chaos with their Faramis-Mathilda combo, racking up a combined 30 assists. Bennyqt’s Granger, despite flashes of brilliance, couldn’t stem the tide.
TNC’s response in Game 2 was ferocious. Bennyqt’s Granger spearheaded a dominant 17-8 victory, with Justine “Zaida” Palma’s Fanny adding to the carnage. Lance “LanceCy” Cunanan’s Cecilion proved a major headache for Sanji’s Valentina, limiting his impact to only four assists.
The deciding Game 3 was a rollercoaster. TNC held an early lead, but Team Liquid PH’s composure under pressure proved decisive. Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno, on Suyou, delivered a masterclass in team fighting, securing a crucial Lord objective despite a 2-3 player disadvantage. His 4/2/9 stat line earned him the MVP award, highlighting his pivotal role in Liquid’s comeback.
Bees Infest the Barangay

AP.Bren, hungry for their first win, delivered a clinical performance against Smart Omega. Game 1 was a one-sided affair, with James “JamesPangks” Mendoza’s Joy leading the charge in a 12-1 demolition.
Smart Omega’s objective control was non-existent, and Czedrick “Super Yoshi” Romero’s Chou struggled immensely.
Game 2 offered little respite for Omega. Jan Carl “Shizou” Valdez’s Moskov shredded through their defenses, while JamesPangks’ Suyou secured a crucial Lord objective.
The “Spear of Destruction” – “Fist Crack” combo from Shizou and Landher “Der” San Gabriel proved devastating, sealing Omega’s fate in just 14 minutes.
With this victory, AP.Bren joined the ranks of every other MPL-PH team, all of which now have at least one series win before the season’s halfway point.
