Team Liquid PH storms into MSC 2025 semifinals after sweeping Aurora Gaming
RIYADH – Team Liquid Philippines stays true to their billing as title favorites after dismantling Aurora Gaming in a 3–0 sweep to secure a spot in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Mid-Season Cup 2025 semifinals at the Amazon Esports Arena on Wednesday.
Alston “Sanji” Pabico anchored the Cavalry’s dominant run and earned match MVP honors, shining across all three games.
Sanji’s Zhuxin set the tempo early in Game 1, finishing with a 3/1/12 KDA in just 12 minutes. Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno and Kiel “Oheb” Soriano added more firepower.
KarlTzy’s signature Lancelot dishing out five kills and nine assists, while Oheb’s Granger racked up 10 kills and five assists.
Aurora struggled to find footing, with Mehmet “Lunar” Ilgun and Sidar “Tienzy” Menteşe combining for eight of the team’s 19 deaths.
Game 2 saw Oheb take over. His Granger locked in a maniac in the 10th minute, nearly pulling off a savage had Ahmet “Rosa” Batır not escaped.
Sanji once again assisted in all team kills with his Zhuxin. Meanwhile Jaypee “Jaypee” dela Cruz added two kills and four assists on Mathilda.
Sanford “Sanford” Vinuya, the other half of the iconic SanSan Duo, stepped up in Game 3. His Cici tallied six kills and three assists, complementing Sanji’s 3/3/5 performance on Pharsa. Despite Şiyar “Sigibum” Akbulut’s 4/3/2 on Ixia, Aurora could not withstand Liquid and fell after 19 minutes.
The series win send them to their third straight MSC semifinal, matching their best placements in 2023 and 2024.
They will next face ONIC Indonesia in a high-stakes rematch. The two teams will run it back from MSC 2023, where the then-ECHO squad fell 0–3 to ONIC in the semifinals.
Aurora Gaming exits MSC 2025 with US$100,000 in prize money and 200 Club Championship points for their organization.
