Team Liquid PH books MSC 2025 Grand Finals berth; ONIC PH falls short in semis

RIYADH – Team Liquid Philippines punched their ticket to the MLBB Mid Season Cup 2025 Grand Finals after a commanding win over ONIC Indonesia, while ONIC Philippines saw their title hopes dashed in a 2-3 heartbreak against Selangor Red Giants OG Esports on Friday.

It’s a bittersweet day for Filipino fans — one squad takes a step closer to the championship, while the other settles for a fight for third.

Red Giants outlast ONIC PH in thriller

Selangor Red Giants OG Esports opened the semifinal series with a dominant 18-6 showing, where Muhammad Haqqullah “Sekys” bin Ahmad Shahrul Zaman’s Joy controlled the map with a 4/1/10 KDA. John Vincent “Innocent” Banal added seven kills and four assists, outplaying Duane “Kelra” Pillas’ Irithel to end Game 1 in under 17 minutes.

ONIC PH retaliated in Game 2, riding on Kelra’s 6/1/5 Granger to equalize the series in just 12 minutes. However, the Malaysians bounced back in Game 3, with Hazziq Danish “Stormie” bin Mohamad Rizwan leading a 9-1 onslaught with Pharsa.

The Filipinos forced a decider after an 11-minute blitz in Game 4, as Frince Miguel “SuperFrince” Ramirez’s Valentina erupted for five kills and eight assists. But their momentum crumbled in the final game.

SRG.OG closed the door in Game 5 with a methodical approach. A crucial 17th-minute clash at the Lord pit spelled disaster for ONIC PH, resulting in a full wipeout. Stormie finished with a clean 7/0/7, while KRAMM’s Cici locked down Jann Kirk “Kirk” Gutierrez’s Phoveus with a 2/1/12 performance.

TLPH steamrolls ONIC Indonesia to reach Grand Finals

In the second semifinal, Team Liquid PH set the tone early with a statement 14-minute Game 1 win. Kiel “Oheb” Soriano ran wild on Harith with a 7/0/7 performance, breaking through ONIC ID’s defenses with ease.

Game 2 turned into a war of attrition. ONIC ID had a potential game-winner after a crucial 15-minute clash, but TLPH responded with a wipeout in the 18th. Despite a heroic defense from Gilang “SANZ,” Team Liquid capitalized on a 24-minute Lord and finished the game with Sanji’s lone survival and the help of empowered minions.

ONIC Indonesia answered back in Game 3, flipping the game in the 15th minute to cut the series lead. SANZ led the charge with a clean 3/0/8 on Novaria, while Sanji’s 8/3/7 Zhuxin effort wasn’t enough to close out the sweep.

However, The Cavalry refused to be denied.

Game 4 saw Team Liquid PH in full control, dominating 14-5 in just 14 minutes. Sanji redeemed himself with an 11/1/4 KDA on Zhuxin, while Oheb’s Claude secured two kills and nine assists in a deathless game.

ONIC ID’s Kairi “Kairi” Rayosdelsol tried to anchor his team with a durable Baxia, but it wasn’t enough to hold back the Cavalry.
