Team Liquid PH Clinches Playoff Berth, Team Falcons PH Inches Closer as MPL PH S15 Ends Week 5
MAKATI – Both title contenders Team Liquid PH and Team Falcons PH continued their quest to the top as MPL Philippines Season 15 Week 5 came to a close.
Team Liquid PH survived a tough challenge from Twisted Minds PH in a full three-game series, while Team Falcons PH secured a convincing 2-0 victory against Smart Omega.
Quick Work for the Falcons
Team Falcons PH needed almost 23 minutes in Game 1 to dismantle Smart Omega, with Michael “KyleTzy” Sayson leading the charge on Joy. The Falcons’ jungler posted a stellar 10/1/3 KDA while securing three of the four Lords, guiding his team to a 17-11 victory.
On the other hand, Omega’s Andrew “Andoryuuu” Flora struggled on Suyou, managing only a 1/4/3 KDA in a losing effort.
Game 2 saw Marco “Super Marco” Requitiano step up for Team Falcons PH, delivering seven kills and eight assists on Moskov to spearhead a dominant 15-4 win. Czedrick “Super Yoshi” Romero’s signature Ruby pick faltered, registering a 0/4/3 performance, while Jayson “UK1R” Alupit’s Pharsa struggled with a 1/2/2 stat line, falling short against Angelo “Pheww” Arcangel’s flawless 2/0/8 Faramis.
With this victory, Team Falcons PH strengthened their playoff bid with a 6-3 record, while Smart Omega slid further down the standings at 1-7.
Cavalry Prevails Despite Twisted Surprise
Twisted Minds PH stunned Team Liquid PH in Game 1 with an 18-6 rout, as Jomarie “Escalera” delos Santos showcased his Guinevere with a 2/2/9 performance. Michael “MP The King” Endino’s Joy and Jhonville “Outplayed” Villar’s Harith combined for 11 kills and nine assists, overwhelming Liquid PH early.
Karl Gabriel “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno struggled on his jungler pick, tallying only four assists while falling five times with zero Lord takes.
In Game 2, Kiel “Oheb” Soriano’s Granger came alive, posting a solid 4/1/5 KDA, while Jaypee “Jaypee” dela Cruz’s Jawhead wreaked havoc against Escalera’s Kalea, who struggled to make an impact.
The series-deciding Game 3 saw Liquid PH shift gears, preventing Twisted Minds PH from gaining any momentum. Salic “Hadji” Imam’s Nana pick failed to turn the tide, while Outplayed’s Granger suffered four deaths out of his team’s six. With Jaypee’s Jawhead leading the charge, Liquid PH dominated in just 10 minutes, securing their eighth win of the season and officially clinching a playoff spot.
Meanwhile, Twisted Minds PH continues to languish at the bottom of the standings with a 1-9 record.
