Project NEXT 2025 Unveils MLBB Shake-Up with Annual Map Change
SINGAPORE – Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) is about to change the Land of Dawn forever.
Project NEXT 2025, set to launch on September 17, introduces the game’s most ambitious patch update yet: the Annual Map Change. It will feature that redefines strategies, hero picks, and the very rhythm of battle.
Annual Map Change Shifts the Battlefield
Project NEXT has long been MOONTON Games’ yearly push to revamp MLBB with gameplay tweaks, hero updates, and meta adjustments. But this year, the spotlight shines on the Annual Map Change. It aims to groundbreaking addition that rolls out four new maps, each designed to reshape how players approach fights.
-
Dangerous Grass cloaks turrets, lanes, and the Lord’s pit in dense vegetation, setting the stage for ambush-heavy heroes like Eudora and Saber to thrive.
-
Broken Walls breaks traditional safe zones with shortcuts across the battlefield, favoring mobility-based heroes like Johnson and shaking up Lord and Turtle contests.
-
Flying Cloud gives defenders a lifeline, letting respawned heroes glide into the fight from higher ground to save turrets or turn the tide.
-
Expanding Rivers boost mobility with intensified currents, allowing even heroes without dashes to rotate faster, escape danger, or reinforce allies.
“By reimagining the Land of Dawn, we aim to provide our players with the biggest in-game patch yet with new challenges to embrace,” said Arnold Xie, Lead Developer for MLBB at MOONTON Games.
New Marksman Rises from the Abyss

Project NEXT 2025 isn’t just about terrain shifts—it also unleashes Obsidia, a new marksman hailing from the Shadow Abyss.
Once the ruler of the bottomless pit, Obsidia now emerges as MLBB’s latest powerhouse. The new hero will add fresh firepower to this already seismic update.
A New Era for the Land of Dawn
With the Annual Map Change and Obsidia’s debut, Project NEXT 2025 sets the stage for a shake-up in MLBB’s meta. From ambush-heavy junglers to lightning-fast rotations, every match will feel brand new as the Land of Dawn transforms.
