ONIC PH topples RRQ Hoshi to reign as first Snapdragon Mobile Masters champions

JAKARTA, IndonesiaThy Kingdom come, but ONIC’s will be done.

On Earth as it was written in their playbook, The Super Family delivered a near-flawless performance in Jakarta, subduing RRQ Hoshi 4-1 to seize the first-ever ESL Snapdragon Pro Series Mobile Masters crown at the Tennis Indoor Senayan on Sunday.

With the win, ONIC Philippines claim their fourth consecutive title in under seven months, adding to their glistening trophy cabinet alongside their MPL Philippines Season 14 crown, the M6 World Championship, and the SPS Season 6 APAC Challenge Finals title.

Game 1 started with the home team taking early control behind Arthur “Sutsujin” Sunarkho’s Joy, who cracked open ONIC’s defenses for most of the match. But as the clock neared 17 minutes, Duane “Kelra” Pillas’ Moskov turned the tide, leading a crucial base siege that dismantled RRQ’s positioning and turned the match around in a flash.

Sutsujin struck back in Game 2, delivering a stellar 9/1/10 performance with Joy as RRQ punished both Borris “Brusko” Parro and Jann Kirk “Kirk” Gutierrez in extended skirmishes, fending off ONIC’s comeback attempt to equalize the series after 19 minutes.

But ONIC quickly regained composure.

Game 3 saw a déjà vu of their opener, with Kelra once again piloting Moskov to deadly precision. A picture-perfect flank allowed him to snipe two RRQ players and secure map control. From there, ONIC closed the match in 13 minutes, with Kelra grabbing the MVP nod once again.

Game 4 was all ONIC.

Brusko’s signature Kalea pick gave the Filipinos full tempo, and RRQ couldn’t keep up. Kelra’s Granger and King Cyric “K1NGKONG” Perez’s Suyou feasted on the home side’s backline in a lopsided 24-7 outing, where Said “Idok” Ridho and Hajirin “Rinz” Arafat accounted for half of the team’s deaths.

RRQ looked to force a Game 6 and focused on isolating Kirk’s Cici in Game 5. Though the EXP laner went down eight times, he turned hero in the most pivotal moment. A clever flank pressured Dyrennn and Idok away from Lord, forcing Sutsujin into an unfavorable fight. With Lord on their side, Brusko’s Gatotkaca denied a last-ditch backdoor attempt by Muhammad “Toyy” Rizky’s Irithel, while ONIC punished the Indonesian bets’ scattered response to seal the win after 23 minutes.

ONIC Philippines will return to Manila $80,000 richer and remain the undisputed kings of international Mobile Legends. As for RRQ, their international woes continue—still chasing a major global title since July 2020.
