ONIC PH cruises to semis, Team Falcons PH join playoffs despite RRQ loss at Snapdragon Mobile Masters

JAKARTA, Indonesia — ONIC Philippines closed out their group stage campaign with an unblemished record, while fellow Filipino squad Team Falcons PH secured a playoff berth after a key win over Alpha7 Esports in the ESL Snapdragon Pro Series: Mobile Masters 2025.

The Green Falcons needed just one win to punch their ticket to the next round — and they did just that against Brazilian side Alpha7, sweeping the series before falling to MPL ID giants RRQ Hoshi in their final match.

Falcons punch playoff ticket, fall to RRQ in final match

Michael “KyleTzy” Sayson led the charge in Game 1 versus Alpha7, taking over with a dominant Joy performance that tallied seven kills and four assists in under 14 minutes. Marco “Super Marco” Requitiano followed suit in Game 2, finishing strong with 11 kills on Granger in a 17-minute closeout.

The victory locked in three crucial points for Team Falcons PH, bringing them to 10 overall — enough to seal the second playoff slot in Group B behind RRQ.

However, the Indonesian kings proved too much in their head-to-head. RRQ Hoshi opened their series with a 12-minute stomp in Game 1, led by Arthur “Sutsujin” Sunarkho’s clinical Hayabusa (7/1/9). In Game 2, Rendy “Dyrennn” Syahputra’s Hylos set the tempo with two kills and 11 assists, completing the sweep in just 13 minutes.

RRQ ended the group stage with a perfect 5-0 record and 15 points. Team Falcons PH followed in second with a 3-2 slate.

ONIC PH sweep Bigetron, secure direct semifinal berth

ONIC Philippines wrapped up their group stage with yet another dominant performance, sweeping Indonesian powerhouse Bigetron Alpha to finish with a 5-0 record. The win secured ONIC a direct ticket to the semifinals, having topped Group A with 14 points.

Duane “Kelra” Pillas once again led the way with an explosive performance on Harith in Game 1, putting up an incredible 13/0/7 stat line in a 22-minute game. In Game 2, Kelra kept the momentum going with 12 kills and four assists on Granger, closing out the match in just 12 minutes. ONIC’s clean sweep underscored their dominance in the group stage, as the reigning world champions remain unbeaten heading into the playoffs.

Playoffs: Familiar foes and potential all-Filipino semifinal

With the group stage in the books, the playoff bracket is officially set. Team Falcons PH will face Bigetron Alpha in a best-of-five quarterfinal match on Friday. The winner of that series will go on to face ONIC PH in the semifinals, setting up the possibility of an all-Filipino clash for a spot in the Grand Finals.

Meanwhile, Group B top seed RRQ Hoshi will await the winner of the other quarterfinal between Team Liquid Indonesia and ONIC Esports. With at least one Indonesian squad guaranteed a Grand Finals berth, all eyes will be on whether the Philippines can make it a two-team race for the championship.
