Aurora’s title bid ends with loss vs. Falcons; ONIC PH snags ticket to Riyadh
MAKATI — One team continues its world tour. The other says goodbye — at least for now.
ONIC Philippines secured their ticket to the MLBB Mid-Season Cup (MSC) in Riyadh after taking down Team Liquid PH, Friday at the Green Sun Hotel. Meanwhile, Aurora Gaming‘s MSC hopes ended in a sweep at the hands of Team Falcons PH.
Sonics to defend MPL title after win vs. Liquid
ONIC PH advanced to the MPL Philippines Season 13 grand finals after a dominant 3-0 sweep of Team Liquid PH.
Jann Kirk “Kirk” Gutierrez led the Sonics in Game 1 with a disruptive Gloo performance, tallying four kills and nine assists as ONIC cruised to a 22-7 win. Kiel “Oheb” Soriano had a quiet showing for Liquid, ending without a kill.
King Cyric “K1NGKONG” Perez then took charge in Game 2 with a stellar Hayabusa outing, posting an 8/1/8 KDA in under 18 minutes. Borris “Brusko” Parro’s Chou played the initiator role to perfection, catching Liquid PH off-guard and forcing bad engagements.
Duane “Kelra” Pillas sealed the sweep with his signature Irithel, contributing six kills in an 11-2 win. ONIC’s map dominance, backed by Kirk’s Hilda and Brusko’s Angela providing sustained heals, shut down any chance of a comeback.
ONIC moves on to Sunday’s grand final, while Liquid PH drops to the lower bracket for one last shot at joining them.
Falcons eliminate Aurora with 3-0 sweep

Team Falcons PH kept their championship hopes alive with a clinical sweep over Aurora Gaming in the lower bracket semifinals.
Michael “KyleTzy” Sayson’s Lukas came up big in Game 1 with five kills and three assists, including a crucial 1v3 outplay against Kenneth “Yue” Tadeo before the 15-minute mark.
Aurora looked to bounce back in Game 2, but a failed contest at the 12-minute lord turned the tide. With Jonard Cedrix “Demonkite” Caranto isolated, Falcons secured the lord and wiped out Aurora in the follow-up clash. Marco “Super Marco” Requitiano’s Granger led the damage charts with a 6/1/2 KDA.
Aurora opened Game 3 strong behind Yue’s Kimmy and Jan Dominic “Domengkite” del Mundo’s Beatrix, but a game-changing Fist Break from Rowgien “Owgwen” Unigo’s Badang shut it all down. KyleTzy’s Lancelot cleaned up the backline, and Falcons closed out the series in under 17 minutes. Super Marco capped it with a standout Harith game, notching seven kills and two assists.
With the win, Team Falcons PH advances to the lower bracket final against Team Liquid PH — with a grand finals spot and the final MSC ticket on the line.
