ONIC PH storms into Snapdragon Grand Finals, downs Falcons PH in four
JAKARTA, Indonesia – Their passports are full of stamps, but the Super Family just keeps flying.
ONIC Philippines are back in another grand final as they outlasted Team Falcons PH, 3-1, in an all-Filipino semifinal of the ESL Snapdragon Pro Series: Mobile Masters 2025 on Saturday, held inside the Tennis Indoor Senayan.
This marks the Sonics’ fourth grand finals appearance in less than a year, following their runs in MPL Philippines Season 14, the M6 World Championship, and the SPS Season 6 APAC Challenge Finals.
But their ticket to the finale didn’t come without turbulence.
Team Falcons PH came out swinging in Game 1, delivering a dominant 17-3 stomp. David “FlapTzy” Canon’s Cici led the charge with a 7/0/8 showing, while Marco “Super Marco” Requitiano’s Wanwan backed him up with three kills and nine assists. ONIC PH couldn’t get anything going, failing to take a single turret or contest a Lord in just under 11 minutes.
Game 2 saw the world champs wake up.
Duane “Kelra” Pillas lit up the gold lane with an 8/2/3 performance, powering ONIC PH to a hard-fought 20-minute win. Rowgien “Owgwen” Unigo’s Chou struggled on the other side, going 0/3/1, as Falcons PH tried to hold the line but couldn’t stop ONIC’s resurgence.
ONIC flipped the switch in Game 3.
Kelra continued his hot streak, this time with Harith, posting a clean 6/0/8 KDA. King Cyric “K1NGKONG” Perez added seven kills and three assists with his Fanny, while Falcons PH’s FlapTzy had no answer on his Phoveus, falling five times.
The Sonics sealed the deal in Game 4, showcasing their trademark mid-game punch. Frince “Super Frince” Ramirez orchestrated the tempo with a stellar Luo Yi performance, tallying 10 assists and a kill in just 11 minutes. K1NGKONG and Kelra added four kills each, while Falcons PH captain Angelo “Pheww” Arcangel’s Zhuxin had a quiet outing with three deaths and only three total contributions.
With the win, ONIC PH secures a guaranteed prize of USD 40,000 and a shot at the USD 80,000 championship pot. They await the winner of the semifinal clash between RRQ Hoshi and Team Liquid ID in what promises to be a thrilling grand finals.
