MPL Philippines to kick off 15th season on February 28; new partners revealed
MAKATI – Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines (MPL PH) will kickstart their 15th season on the last day of February as they held their seasonal kickoff press conference at the Green Sun Hotel on Thursday.
This season marked the debuts of two new teams in the league, Team Falcons PH and Twisted Minds PH, as eight franchise teams will battle it out for MLBB supremacy and a chance to represent the country at the upcoming MLBB Mid-Season Cup in Riyadh as part of the 2025 Esports World Cup (EWC).
MPL PH will open with a face-off between former teammates Salic “Hadji” Imam and Kenneth Carl “Yue” Tadeo as Twisted Minds PH will meet familiar faces in Aurora Gaming inside Green Sun Hotel.
Among notable changes were the acquisition of Lazy Esports as the new AP.Bren squad, the old AP.Bren boys joining Team Falcons, and Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera’s debut for TNC Pro Team.
New partners along the way

This time around, MPL-PH will partner with family entertainment company Timezone and gaming chair brand TTRacing.
Timezone will be setting up entertainment areas in the venue with some of their iconic carnival games, while TTRacing will be the gaming chair to be used throughout the season.
Telecommunications company Smart and smartphone brand Infinix will continue their long-standing partnership with the league. Smart will sponsor the MPL PH Battle Trips program, while Infinix will continue with their second season of the FANSiklaban, which will cater students from various universities and colleges and fan clubs of the eight franchise teams.
A pro league for female players and college stars

With the new MLBB esports calendar comes two new leagues, the Athena League and the MLBB Student Leaders Collegiate Cup (MCC).
Athena League will serve as the top-tier women’s professional MLBB League. It will also be the qualifying tournament for the upcoming MLBB Women’s Invitational 2025, which will also happen in Riyadh as part of the EWC.
Smart Omega Empress, Philippines’ current top female team, will try to defend the title.
MCC will be the Moonton-sanctioned MLBB collegiate tournament and will feature teams from various universities and colleges. The winner of the tournament will receive a direct slot at the upcoming MLBB Development League – Philippines Season 6.
