MLBB’s US server back to active mode after country gives TikTok grace period

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang’s services in the United States returns to normal activity as the new Trump government temporarily lifts the ban of TikTok in the country Tuesday morning (Philippine time).

US-based players in Twitter and Reddit have reported to log into the game smoothly, with them receiving an in-game email from Moonton, MLBB’s developer.

“Great news! Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is officially back after a brief pause!” Moonton said in their email, prompting players to simply open the app as usual without any other action needed for additional log-ins.

Players reported receiving in-game activity rewards and gifts from the developers, while they encourage to contact them for any concerns.

The announcement was due to the newly-installed Trump government in the United States, who sworn in earlier today, made promises to ByteDance on finding solutions to keep the app running in the country.

Marvel Snap, a game published under Nuverse—another ByteDance subsidiary—returns to activity alongside MLBB.

TikTok suspended services in the United States last January 19 morning (PH Time) after ByteDance failed to sell the service before the deadline set by the newly-enacted Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications law in the country ByteDance-owned apps and services, including MLBB, Marvel Snap, and CapCut, followed suit.

TikTok’s services went back into operation 14 hours after the ban.

US MLBB players were among the most passionate regions of the game, with a national team and clubs representing the country in international competitions. Teams such as BloodThirstyKings, Team Gosu, and TheOhioBrothers represented the country in the M-Series, and players such as General, MobaZane, and Hoon becoming household names in the MLBB esports scene.
