MLBB unveils 2025 roadmap; M7 slated in January 2026
PUTRAJAYA, Malaysia – 2025 will be a busy year for the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang esports circuit as their annual roadmap was revealed on Friday.
MLBB’s developer Moonton Games explained next year’s roadmap in their M6 Summit, as they unveiled the various top-tier tournaments and third-party competitions to be held and sanctioned by Moonton.
The M6 summit took place before the main event in Kuala Lumpur’s Axiata Arena, with Fnatic ONIC Philippines, Team Liquid ID, Selangor Red Giants, and Team Spirit still in contention for the M6 trophy.
MSC, MWI 2025 in mid-July, M7 in January 2026
Three MLBB esports’ pre-eminent tournaments were announced as part of the roadmap, with the MLBB Women’s Invitational 2025 to happen in early July.
The second edition of the MLBB Mid-Season Cup (MSC) under its current name will follow suit from mid-July up to early August, unofficially confirming both MWI and MSC’s inclusion in the Esports World Cup tournaments.
The esports circuit will be wrapped up by the M7 World Championships in January 2026, with the placement to avoid schedule clashes.
Two MLBB Professional League seasons will also happen, with the first being from March to June, and the second one to take place from late August to November.
More details will be announced soon, including the M7 host country, participating countries in the regional circuits, as well as other tournaments.
New league in China confirmed
The MLBB esports circuit will officially welcome China as the newest member of the regional league circuits.
It is still to be confirmed if China will fall under the MLBB Professional League (MPL) brand or a different competition, with seven regions—Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Cambodia, Latin America, and Middle East and North Africa—having their own MPLs.
“MLBB’s global expansion continued in 2024 with the establishment of the Chinese league. We are excited to witness one of the world’s gaming powerhouses test their strength in the MLBB esports ecosystem,” Head of Regional Esports & China at MOONTON Games Mike Chu said in a statement.
“At the same time, we’re delighted to see more competitive diversity at our tournaments. At the ongoing M6 World Championship, we have for the first time in M Series history seen four teams from different regions reach the Semi Finals. This is a result of our strategy to grow the ecosystem internationally; MLBB is now truly a global esports brand,” he added.
Second ESL competition officially in 2025 calendar
The ESL Snapdragon has also unveiled a new competition, the Snapdragon Pro Series Mobile Masters in April, with teams from Asia-Pacific, Europe, LATAM, and China regions will battle it out for supremacy.
ESL Snapdragon will still keep the Snapdragon Pro Series 2025-26 circuit, with the seventh season to start in May.
MLBB returns to SEA Games 2025
The title will also make its return to the 2025 Southeast Asian Games, which will be scheduled in mid-December and prompting the M7 to be scheduled in January the next year for the second time since M2.
MLBB was among the titles confirmed to be contested in the biennial multi-sport event, with both men’s and women’s divisions to be contested from 11 nations across Southeast Asia.
Magic Chess game, tournament to go-go!
Moonton also announced their plans for an esports ecosystem for Magic Chess: Go Go.
With the game being soft-launch in Malaysia and Singapore, MCGG will be launched to the rest of the world in early 2025.
Indonesia will be the first one to experience the MCGG tournaments, with the rest of Southeast Asia to follow suit, as Moonton collaborates with various streaming platforms, key opinion leader (KOL) streamers, and players to build the MCGG ecosystem.
