Marvel Rivals adds Brain Blast mode, launches Art Vision behind-the-scenes series

Marvel Games and NetEase Games have unveiled two exciting updates for Marvel Rivals, the fast-rising team-based PVP shooter set in the Marvel multiverse. Players can now jump into a new limited-time mode called Giant-Size Brain Blast, while also enjoying a deeper look at the game’s visual direction through Art Vision Vol. 1, the first in a new online video series.

Giant-Size Brain Blast Mode

This new mode pits up to 12 players against each other in competitive matches. Players who complete 10 matches during the event will unlock a Brain Blast emote. Top performers on the leaderboard—ranked per hero—will earn exclusive title rewards at the end of each round for the Top 500, Top 100, and Top 10.

The event will run in two separate rounds:

• Round 1: April 25, 5:00 PM – April 28, 8:00 AM (UTC+8)

• Round 2: May 2, 5:00 PM – May 5, 8:00 AM (UTC+8)

Art Vision Vol. 1: The Genesis of Style

In addition, Marvel Rivals has launched Art Vision Vol. 1: The Genesis of Style, the first installment in a behind-the-scenes video series that explores the game’s creative process.

The premiere episode features insights from Art Director Dino Ma and other members of the development team, covering interface design, animation, and overall visual storytelling.

Gameplay Roles and Team-Up Abilities

In Marvel Rivals, players choose heroes from three defined roles: Vanguard, Duelist, and Strategist. Teams can build flexible lineups depending on their preferred playstyle, and unleash Team-Up Abilities that combine superpowers for high-impact combos and game-changing team synergy.

Developed by a global NetEase team with experience working on top-tier shooter franchises, Marvel Rivals has attracted over 40 million players worldwide. The title continues to evolve with new events, hero balance updates, and game patches—all available on the official update hub.
