Magic Chess: Go Go APAC Grand Launch set for February 21
SINGAPORE — MOONTON Games officially reveals the APAC Grand Launch of Magic Chess: Go Go (MCGG), set for February 21. The free-to-play multiplayer strategy game will be available for iOS and Android users across Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand.
The developers soft-launched the game in Malaysia and Singapore on November 29 last year at the advent of the M6 World Championships.
Strategic Gameplay Inspired by Mobile Legends: Bang Bang
Developed by the original Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) team, MCGG brings MLBB Heroes like Layla, Nana, and Chou into an intense strategic battlefield. In every match, eight players compete in Player versus Player (PvP) combat, battling across multiple rounds to emerge as the last strategist standing.
The game has already surpassed 15 million pre-registrations, solidifying its position as one of 2025’s most anticipated mobile game releases.
“In MLBB lore, MCGG exists as a widely popular game in the Land of Dawn. Created by a ‘mysterious game designer,’ MCGG’s Commanders, Go Go Cards, and Synergies are based on the heroes, legends, and stories circulating in the continent. With the APAC Grand Launch, we are taking this concept out into the real world—offering gamers a fresh competitive field to enjoy the rich and immersive world of MLBB,” said Gao “Skyhook” Chong, MCGG Producer at MOONTON Games.
Season 1 “Rising Dawn” Introduces Free Rewards and New Features

The inaugural season, “Rising Dawn,” will introduce exclusive rewards, including 14 Commanders (1-Star), the “Ruins of Fall” Chessboard Skin, and the “Plasma Gunner” Commander Layla Skin.
Additionally, MLBB players can claim a free X.Borg “Pecados Rioter” skin by linking their accounts and completing missions in MCGG.
Upcoming Two-Player Mode in March and Commander Roster Expansion
MCGG will also roll out an exciting Two-Player Mode in March which allows players to team up in duos and compete against other pairs.
Each player can send a 1-star hero to their partner, and the higher-ranked player in the duo will determine the final team ranking.
Every new season will introduce more MLBB Heroes as Commanders, starting with fan-favorite Miya, the Moonlight Archer.
100% Asset Conversion for Magic Chess Veterans
Long-time players of MLBB’s arcade mode, Magic Chess, will receive a 100% conversion of their inventory into MCGG currency. These include Golden Diamonds, Gift Tickets, and Passes, which can be exchanged for Commanders and skins in the permanently available MCGG Shop.
Players can use these converted assets to unlock Commanders, skins, and other exclusive content in the permanently available MCGG Shop.
Future Plans: Esports Tournaments and More Content
“MCGG is the culmination of many years of dedicated development and testing. But our APAC Grand Launch is only the start. We will be rolling out more exciting initiatives in the coming weeks and months, including much-requested-for esports tournaments, which is one of our immediate priorities for MCGG,” added Gao.
With its grand launch, exclusive rewards, and a growing esports scene, Magic Chess: Go Go aims to become the next must-play strategy game in APAC’s competitive mobile gaming landscape.
