Honor of Kings Evolves Into Honor of Kings Plus with Massive Update
MANILA – Honor of Kings gears up for its biggest transformation yet. Starting June 24, the game will officially evolve into Honor of Kings Plus, reflecting the scale and ambition of its latest global update. This sweeping overhaul brings significant improvements to gameplay, player recognition, and personalization. And the best part? It’s all available for free.
Game Producer Dean Huang emphasized the importance of listening to the community, saying:
“With Honor of Kings Plus, we have really pushed ourselves to introduce new, groundbreaking and engaging content and refine existing features.”
Flowborn Debuts as the Game’s Most Personal Hero Yet
Headlining the update is Flowborn, a groundbreaking hero class that gives players the most personal level of customization ever seen in a MOBA.
Users will be able to customize their avatar’s appearance. This includes outfit, skin tone, and hairstyle, with more options unlockable over time. They can also create shareable 2D posters using background templates, stickers, and nameplates to showcase their in-game persona.
Combat-wise, Flowborn is equally flexible. Players can select from a versatile set of weapons and attribute buffs that are effective across multiple lanes. These can be adjusted during a match, allowing for real-time adaptation. The Marksman version of Flowborn will be available starting June 24, while Tank and Mage variants are expected to arrive in July.
Skill Finally Gets the Spotlight in Rankings
One of the update’s biggest changes is how player performance is rewarded, even in losses. The new system calculates match rewards based on two key metrics: match result and personal performance. The latter is broken down into basic evaluations and highlight moments, which can dramatically boost a player’s rating.
For instance, players who solo a highground tower and destroy the enemy crystal in one run can earn an instant SSS rating. Carrying a game with full performance scores grants an additional two stars, while gold medal performances could lead to rating gains.
Even in 1v9 situations where the outcome doesn’t go your way, standout effort won’t go unnoticed. The global version will feature a more transparent point system than the Chinese server, with rating tiers clearly tied to specific bonus thresholds.
Cross-Language Voice Transcription Bridges Communication Gaps
Communication gets a major upgrade as Honor of Kings Plus introduces real-time voice-to-text transcription and automatic translation. The system will initially support English, Chinese, Indonesian, and Malay, with additional languages under consideration.
This update enhances both team strategy and social connection, making it easier to play and bond with teammates from different regions.
Streamlined Gameplay and Lane Flow
To reduce frustration and improve match pacing, developers have reworked the mid-lane flow by increasing minion count to four and removing the Central River Sprite entirely. River Sprites in the top and bottom lanes have also been rebalanced. These also included adjusted spawn timings and attributes for the Red Falcon. Super minions now offer less late-game pressure across all three lanes.
The Teleport Summoner Skill is now permanently available for use, with improved visuals for a smoother experience. Turret shield mechanics have been reworked as well to match the new gameplay rhythm.
Honor Pass Gets a Major Overhaul

In response to player concerns, the Honor Pass system has been reworked into a more streamlined experience. Now, players can earn XP and rewards by completing missions, delivering highlight plays, and joining event campaigns. This progression system not only provides clarity, but also rewards activity across all types of players.
To celebrate the launch, all players will receive a free Elite Pass just by updating their game. At Level 1, players unlock the Nuwa – Syzygy Moonlight skin, while reaching Level 80 grants them the Alessio EWC skin at no cost.
Those upgrading to the Deluxe Pass will also receive 398 bonus tokens, which can be saved for future passes or spent right away.
Limited-Time Freebies and Massive Skin Discounts
Honor of Kings is also launching a limited-time skin event to celebrate the transition to Plus. Beginning June 19, players can complete tasks to earn special event tokens. From June 24, those tokens can be exchanged in the Event Center for a skin voucher worth 1688 Tokens.
The voucher becomes redeemable from June 28 to 30 and applies to all skins released before January 1, 2025. This one only excludes the newly launched Yun Ying – Crystallight Spear skin. The voucher can be used without a minimum spend and offers a one-time discount of up to 1688 Tokens for any eligible skin.
From June 28 to 30, every skin launched before June 24 will be free to use, including legendary and limited-edition skins.
