Esports World Cup 2025 full calendar revealed; 25 games featured across two months

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia – The stage is set for the biggest esports tournament of the year.

The Esports World Cup 2025 is officially locked in for a two-month spectacle in Riyadh, starting July 7, featuring an estimated over 2,000 players from 200 teams, all battling for a record-breaking USD 70 million prize pool.

This year’s edition will host competitions across 25 esports titles, making it the most diverse and expansive EWC to date. The event will also include several midseason championships and debut titles across genres, solidifying its place as the pinnacle of competitive gaming.

The action kicks off in Week 1 with FPS juggernauts VALORANT and Apex Legends, fighting game newcomer FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves, and sim racer Rennsport.

Following the opener, Week 2 shifts focus to top-tier MOBA action with League of Legends and Dota 2, joined by mobile battle royale favorite Free Fire. The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Women’s Invitational also makes its return as the event’s exclusive all-female competition.

Week 3 brings fresh excitement with the debut of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Honor of Kings’ Kings World Cup, alongside the comeback of iconic RTS title StarCraft II.

In Week 4, some of the most-watched games from the 2024 edition take center stage, including the MLBB Mid-Season Cup 2025, PUBG Mobile World Cup, Overwatch 2 Midseason Championship, and Chess, which joins the EWC as a new competitive title.

Then in Week 5, adrenaline-pumping shooters Call of Duty: Warzone and Rainbow Six Siege X will take over the spotlight alongside EA Sports FC 25.

To close out the variety, Week 6 will feature a diverse mix of genres, including Rocket League, PUBG Battlegrounds, Teamfight Tactics, and Tekken 8. The tournament will wrap up in Week 7 with grand finals in Counter-Strike 2, CrossFire, and Street Fighter 6, setting the stage for the final stretch.

The 2024 Esports World Cup featured 19 official titles and saw over 120 million hours watched across all platforms, peaking at over 2.3 million concurrent viewers during the MLBB Mid-Season Cup grand finals.

Team Falcons, based in Saudi Arabia, emerged as the best-performing esports organization with two championship titles and eight more podium finishes, topping the points table with 5,665 total points.

EWC 2024 also cemented the foundation for midseason integrations, with titles like PUBG Mobile, Mobile Legends, and Overwatch 2 syncing their global calendars with the Riyadh-based mega-event.

What’s at stake in 2025

Several titles—such as Honor of Kings, PUBG Mobile, CrossFire, Overwatch 2, and Mobile Legends—will serve as midseason tournaments tied directly to their global circuits. PUBG Battlegrounds and Street Fighter 6 will also offer official qualification points for their respective world championships.

As the Esports World Cup 2025 approaches, fans can expect a historic showcase of competition, storylines, and regional pride across every genre of gaming—from mobile to PC, fighting games to MOBAs, and everything in between.
