Blacklist escapes Elevate to get HOK KIS Season 3 PH qualis grand finals slot; BOOM, Rough World Era survives
MANILA – Blacklist International needs a full five-game series to book their way into the Honor of Kings Invitational Series Season 3 Philippine Qualifier Grand Finals as they beat Elevate to end Week 1 on Sunday.
The Agents pulled a reverse sweep as they stopped Elevate on their tracks, after the latter won Games 1 and 2 thanks to Azar’s Di Renjie and Ajizix’s Yuhuan’s MVP performances.
Blacklist started to fight back in Game 3 with Dragon’s Yuhuan leading them with 3/0/5 in a 9-0 whitewash of Elevate, followed by his twin GoldenKite’s Lady Sun play in Game 4, tying the series with a 6-1 win in under 10 minutes.
Elevate tried to get things going in Game 5, but a combination of a losing team fight near the Overlord and no Elevate member defending the base costed them the game as Goldenkite’s Marco Polo locked the base to seal the deal.
Flash experienced the Rough World
It was a completely different story in the second series as Rough World Era booted Team Flash PH out of contention to prolong their chances of going to the main invitationals.
Arise’s Lam was the difference-maker in Game 1, securing nine kills and assisting two, including two in an ace in the 16th minute to claim Game 1 in a high-scoring 18-13 output.
Rough World Era pulled off a snowball in Game 2 to eliminate FLPH with Dani’s Lady Sun leading the charge with three kills and assisting five more, while completely shutting down Saro and Nitsua’s effect on the map.
Here comes the BOOM
BOOM Esports, fresh from their loss against Blacklist last Saturday, vent their ire on Team Eureka as they eliminate them in the lower bracket quarterfinals in a 2-0 sweep.
Toshi was too much for Eureka as his Arli pick worked wonders with eight kills and seven assists while the team didn’t concede a single objective to Eureka in the 10-minute match.
It was almost the same story in the second game as Tatsurii’s Gan & Mo stepped up with six kills and seven assists in the midlane as they shut down Metalwolf’s Loong. who only grabbed two kills and an assist compared to his four deaths.
BOOM Esports will next face Rough World Era in the lower bracket semifinals on Friday, with the winner being assured of the last Filipino spot in the HOK Invitationals.
The winner will also face BOOM Esports in the next match to battle for tournament placement and the spot in the Grand Finals on Saturday, December 21.
