Aurora tops Todak anew, Blacklist escapes EVOS Glory as SPS Season 6 APAC Challenge Season LCQ participants confirmed

MANILA – MPL Philippines Season 14 contenders Aurora MLBB and Blacklist International book their tickets to the Snapdragon Pro Series Season 6 APAC – Challenge Season’s Last Chance Qualifiers as they close out their decider matches on Saturday.

The Codebreakers and the Auroras prevailed in their matches which both went in three full games, while compatriots Team Liquid PH wasn’t as lucky as they were eliminated in the decider round.

Comeback from the Codebreakers

Blacklist had a tough Game 1 against EVOS Glory as they engaged in a close 22-minute match with Blacklist closing in despite EVOS securing all the lords in the game.

However, EVOS avoided a potential Blacklist turnover as Junisen “Anavel” Young Lo secured the final lord of the game and forced Blacklist to play defense, prompting EVOS to wait for the lord and called game.

It was Kenley Nathaniel “Veldora” Zefanya’s cheese pick Badang who made the difference with four kills and 13 assists while they limit John “Perkziva” Sumawan and Salic “Hadj” Imam’s impact on the map.

Blacklist had a different Game 2 as they mauled EVOS Glory as Jhonville “Outplayed” Villar’s Harith took two kills and five assists while Veldora, now using the Cici, became a non-factor thanks for Jhon Marl “JM Pinkman” Sebastian’s Lukas.

It was all Blacklist from start to end as EVOS cannot find a way to contain Outplayed and Michael “MPPPP” Endino who were unscathed the entire game.

The Codebreakers had more of the same in Game 3 as they stripped EVOS of their glory with a solid 5/0/12 performance from Hadj’s Valentina, while the rest of Blacklist secured all possibel objectives in the game.

Both MPPPP’s Joy and Outplayed’s Harith proved to be too much for EVOS Glory, with Anavel only getting a kill and falling down thrice with the Suyou, while the rest had minimal impact to fight against the Codebreakers.

Another crusade lost by the Cavalry

Alter Ego sent Team Liquid PH crashing in their matchup, starting with a Game 1 escape that saw AE won by a close margin.

The all-Indonesian squad needed two crucial fights to seal the deal in Game 1, capped by an extended team fight near the lord pit that costed three lives from the side of TLPH, leaving Masayuki “YukTzy” Fujita’s Claude and Sanford “Sanford” Vinuya’s Phoveus to defend to no avail.

It was Syauki Fauzan “Nino” Sumarno’s game for the taking, with his Cici’s 4/2/13 score line enough to give him the MVP nod.

Dhannya “Haizz” Posa Hoputra has his time to shine in Game 2 as his Harith put up seven kills and seven assists to close the series to their favor in 23 minutes.

Despite TLPH leading in the game, it was Alter Ego who took the evolved lord in the 23rd minute and pushed Liquid PH back to their bases.

From there, despite Karl Gabriel “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno’s return to Hayabusa, the rest of AE limited Alston”Sanji” Pabico’s Yue and Jaypee “Jaypee” dela Cruz’ Chou’s impact on the game, with Jaypee not even getting a kill in the entire 23 minutes.

Kites are the lights within

The “kite” Brothers of Jonard Cedrix “Demonkite” Caranto and Jan Dominic “Domengkite” del Mundo proved to be difference maker as Todak was unable to finish Aurora in three full rounds in the rematch of the Group D first-round matchup.

A prolonged team fight in the 13th minute brewed for the side of  Todak as Domengkite, Kenneth Carl “Yue” Tadeo, and Renejay “Renejay” Barcarse were dominated with Todak getting the crucial lord.

Muhammad Zaed “Zahyedsempoi” Hakimi was the star man for Todak, getting three kill and assisting five more.

However, Aurora bounced back in Game 2 after pretty much dominating the entire map, as Domeng tallied seven kills and assisting five, Demonkite’s Suyou was assisting left and right unscathed.

Dhiwa “Deesempoi” Zulpiqar became a walking gold mine for Aurora, as he was taken down six times with the Irithel.

Aurora had a game of two halves in the decider rounds, with them dominating the map control, as all they forced Todak to contest the lord in the 17th minute/

With almost all players and teams engaged Todak to a full team fight, Demonkite’s Suyou decided to leave the brawl and head state to Todak’s case.

With all minions pushing to the top and bottom lanes, Demonkite called game  as Edward prevented the Malaysia-based team to regroup and go back to their home base.

LCQ matchups booked for tomorrow

Aurora and Blacklist were pitted against each other in the last chance qualifier group, which will be in a similar GSL format, while Indonesian teams Alter Ego and Team Liquid ID will face one another in the other bracket.

The two matches will be part of a five-match card to determine the last two teams that will enter the Challenge Finals in February.
