Aurora joins ONIC PH, Falcons AP.Bren in SPS Challenge Finals as they exact revenge on Team Liquid ID

MANILA – Aurora MLBB joins fellow Filipino teams ONIC Philippines and Falcons AP.Bren as they grab one of two remaining spots in the ESL Snapdragon Pro Series Season 6 APAC – Challenge Season on Sunday.

The MPL PH runners-up took two wins in the Last Chance Qualifier bracket, getting victories against fellow MPL Philippines side Blacklist International and newfound rivals Team Liquid ID.

Brawl between familiar faces

Aurora began their journey against their hometown rivals with a Game 1 win with an explosive 22-kill score as Kenneth Carl “Yue” Tadeo’s Zhuxin put up seven kills and 11 assists.

Their crowd control layering proved to be problematic for Blacklist International, where Jhon Marl “JM Pinkman” Sebastian and John “Perkziva” Sumawan fell for a combined 11 deaths while only assisting in three kills each,.

Michael “MPPPP” Endino led the Codebreakers in tying the series as his throwback jungle Alice pick tallied nine kills and six assists.

Jan Dominic “Domengkite” del Mundo’s Claude saw himself limited to only three assists as Aurora was unable to score a single major objective.

The two teams engaged in an explosive Game 3 with Aurora eventually winning 21-19 in 13 minutes as they traded kills with each other, with Edward Jay “Edward” Dapadap’s Lukas stepping up.

Aurora saw four kills and 13 assists from their Hall of Legends inductee as one crucial clash near the lord pit proving to be costly for Blacklist.

Jonard Cedrix “Demonkite” Caranto’s Suyou was vital in their decisive victory with five kills and nine assists plus two lord takes, while MPPPP’s Hayabusa’s 5/4/6 KDA went to naught.

Sweeter the second time around

Team Liquid ID proved to be a different beast to tame for Aurora as they suffered a Game 1 mauling with nine kills to Cavalry to Aurora’s one.

Favian Bayu “Faviannn” Putra’s Alpha went berserk with five kills and three assists with his Alpha, while Sultan “Aeronnshikii” Muhammad’s Granger picked up a solid 3/0/4 KDA.

Aeronnshikii’s Moskov tried a backdoor play but was shut by Edward’s Cici as TLID looked to end Game 2 in their own terms.

From there, Yue’s Zhask became the nightmare for the TLID marksman, with Aeronnshikii falling twice in crucial team fights against the Filipino mage prodigy.

Edward led the way for Aurora, scoring seven kills and eight assists.  Demonkite’s Suyou became effective once more with two lords slain alongside a solid 3.0 KDA average.

Aurora turned the aggressive switch on as they shut down Faviannn’s Alpha with six deaths in a 17-3 thumping of TLID.

Domengkite proved to be a monster for Aurora, with his Granger getting eight kills and seven assists. while Renejay “Renejay” Barcarse’s signature Chou also showed up with six assists.

GGWPs to the Agents

Blacklist International faced Alter Ego in the lower bracket semifinals, the latter being sent down after a 0-2 loss from TLID.

MPPPP’s Bane stepped up for the Codebreakers with two kills and eight assists. Roamer Perkziva showed up for the occasion with a 1/0/10 outing from his Khaleed.

The all-Indonesian side equalized in Game 2 with a 13-7 win in 18 minutes, with Rachmad “DreamS” Wahyudi putting up two kills and 11 assists with the Mathilda.

JM Pinkman’s Badang had an off-night for Blacklist, getting five deaths while only getting as many assists while Jhonville “Outplayed” Villar’s 4/1/1 efforts with the Harith went to waste.

Blacklist saw a different Alter Ego in Game 3, getting a 4-13 mauling with Gilbert “Gebe” Arihta’s Suyou getting five kills and three assists.

The Codebreakers’ attempt of a mid lane Hilda and a roam Floryn backfired with Salic “Hadj” Imam falling five times in almost 11 minutes of game time.
