Aurora Gaming’s M6 playoffs hopes went flat after 0-2 sweep vs. Team Liquid ID

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — MPL Indonesia champions Team Liquid ID punched their way to the 2-2 bracket after sweeping Aurora MLBB in the final match of Round 4 of the M6 World Championship Swiss stage on Wednesday. The loss marked the end of the road for Aurora, as they finished the Swiss stage with three defeats, placing joint 12th-14th alongside China’s KeepBest Gaming and Turkey’s S2G Esports.

TLID secured a narrow victory in Game 1 against the MPL-PH runners-up after a pivotal clash in the lord pit in the 15th minute. Christian Widy “Widy” Wardhana Hartono’s Chou set up Jonard Cedrix “Demonkite” Caranto’s Alpha to the rest of the Cavalry, sealing the momentum.

Although Demonkite managed to secure the lord, the combined damage output from Sultan “AeronnShikii” Muhammad’s Granger and Yehezkiel “yehezkiel” Wiseman’s Xavier proved overwhelming, taking him down and allowing the Knights to storm Aurora’s base for the win.

TLID’s midlaner, Yehezkiel, earned MVP honors with five kills and 11 assists. Meanwhile, Renejay “Renejay” Barcarse’s Tigreal had a game to forget, recording nine assists but suffering crucial pick-offs late in the match.

Aurora held the lead from the early to mid-game until a decisive river fight in the 10th minute. Aldhia Fahmi “Aran” Aranda’s Hylos initiated the clash but fell, leaving only Jan Dominic “Domeng” del Mundo’s Beatrix alive to fend off TLID’s counterattack.

From that moment on, Team Liquid dominated. They forced another team fight, secured the lord, and pressured Aurora’s base. Despite Domeng’s efforts and the defense mounted by Renejay’s Chou and Demonkite’s Joy, TLID closed out the match to ensure their survival in the tournament and a final chance to secure a playoff berth.

Team Liquid will face MPL MENA’s Twisted Minds in their next match tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Malaysia’s hopes remain alive with Selangor Red Giants taking on Cambodia’s CFU Gaming and Team Vamos gearing up for a heated match against North American side BloodThirstyKings.
