Aurora dethrones world champs Falcons AP.Bren in six, grabs M6 ticket

MAKATI – And it’s official! We will have new MPL and M-World Champions.

Aurora Gaming’s historic run continues as they defeat current world champions Falcons AP.Bren, four games to two, clinching the second spot in the MPL Philippines Season 14 Grand Finals.

The team also earns a direct invite to the M6 World Championships, denying FCAP a chance to defend their crown.

FCAP’s captain Angelo “Pheww” Arcangel led the Hive as they drew first blood, cruising past Aurora with a 21-3 beatdown.

The midlaner’s Luo Yi secured five kills and assisted 15 more, including several crucial Diversion plays that thwarted Aurora’s team-ups.

Edward Jay “Edward” Dapadap and Renejay “Renejay” Barcase became FCAP’s sandbags, with their Edith and Mathilda plays combining for 12 deaths and only three assists.

Renejay’s Mathilda bounced back in Game 2 as he assisted in all 11 Aurora kills in 14 minutes, leading the team to even the series.

Jonard Cedrix “Demonkite” Caranto’s Alpha tallied six kills and three assists while securing both lords.

Jan Dominic “Domeng” del Mundo’s Harith kept Marco “Super Marco” Requitiano’s Mathilda at bay, limiting him to just one assist and two deaths.

Aurora took the lead with a 15-6 domination of Falcons AP.Bren as Kenneth “Yue” Tadeo’s Aurora posted five kills and 10 assists, while Demonkite’s Suyou added five kills and nine assists.

Pheww’s Zhuxin pick was a non-factor, failing to secure a crucial pickoff despite assisting in all FCAP’s kills, while David “FlapTzy” Canon’s Hylos fell seven times and only assisted four.

Edward’s Edith stepped up in Game 4 as Aurora delivered another thumping of FCAP, with 11 kills to just two in over 14 minutes, gaining map control from the start and securing match point in the end.

Kyle “KyleTzy” Sayson became a non-factor in the match, recording no kills, assists, or deaths despite playing Nolan. Aurora dethrones world champs.

The jungler roamer rebounded in Game 5, as Falcons AP.Bren outwitted Aurora in a 17-12 win to force a sixth game, with KyleTzy’s Suyou pulling off six kills and seven assists.

Aurora wasn’t fazed and closed the series within 14 minutes, with Renejay’s Mathilda posting two kills and 12 assists in a 14-5 outing, officially ousting the world champions.

The quintet will attempt to cap their historic season with a title as they face top-seeded Fnatic ONIC Philippines on Sunday in a best-of-seven Grand Finals.
