MLBB at 9: A Festival of Skins, Community, and Growth

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) is gearing up for its ninth anniversary this October with its biggest celebration yet — the “9th to Meet You” festival.

More than just a birthday bash, it’s a showcase of how the game has stayed on top of the mobile gaming world. This is while they continue to reward the community that made it a global powerhouse.

Pop Idol Twist

The anniversary event officially launches on October 9, and front and center are the exclusive K-Pop-inspired girl group skins. This lineup brings four heroes into the spotlight, blending MLBB’s flair for stylish designs with the energy of global pop culture.

Players can jump straight into the action via the Anniversary Venue, a special in-game hub. By completing missions and matches, players collect Anniversary Points and Energy, lighting up sections of the venue as a community. As the hub evolves, so do the rewards, culminating in the ultimate prize: Fanny’s brand-new Epic girl group skin — a reward anyone can earn just by joining the celebration.

Lolita’s Skin and the Stardust Vault

The fun doesn’t stop there. Starting October 17, a limited-time puzzle event unlocks Lolita’s new superfan skin, along with a painted variant. Players can piece together puzzles, complete tasks, and score exclusive anniversary items in the process.

Perhaps the biggest game-changer is the introduction of the Stardust Vault. This permanent feature ensures no grind ever goes to waste. Unused progress from events is converted into Stardust Crystals, which can be traded for a wide variety of prizes, including sought-after Epic skins.

It’s MLBB’s way of making sure every player gets lasting rewards for their time and effort.

Top of Mobile MOBA Esports

Since its 2017 launch, MLBB has become more than just a mobile MOBA. It transformed into a cultural mainstay across Southeast Asia and beyond. Unlike many titles that fade after a few years, MLBB has saw continuous growth, dominating app store charts while keeping its player base hooked.

Its esports scene tells the story. The M-Series World Championship has broken viewership records year after year, turning into a spectacle that rivals long-established PC esports.

In Q2 2025, MLBB reached its biggest milestone yet with over 4.1 million peak concurrent viewers worldwide at the MPL Indonesia Season 15 Grand Finals, making it the most-watched esports title at that time period.

Still Growing

The “9th to Meet You” festival isn’t just about flashy skins — it’s a statement. MLBB has proven that after nine years, it’s not slowing down. With record-breaking esports moments, community-first innovations, and a commitment to rewarding players, the game continues to set the standard for what a mobile title can achieve.

This October, players are invited to log in, light up the Anniversary Venue, and celebrate nine years of unforgettable battles.
