Aurora Gaming Edges Twisted Minds 2-1; ONIC Philippines Sweeps Falcons in MPL-PH Week 3

MAKATI — Aurora Gaming outlasted Twisted Minds PH in a tense 2-1 series, while ONIC Philippines kept Team Falcons winless with a clean sweep as MPL Philippines Season 16 returned Friday at the Green Sun Hotel.

The Northern Lights handed Twisted Minds their second loss of the season, and the Super Family stretched Falcons’ skid to four straight defeats.

Aurora struck first in Game 1, dismantling Twisted Minds in under 11 minutes. Dylan “Light” Catipon’s Hylos set the tone with a 1/2/10 KDA, choking off every attempted comeback. Michael “MPtheKing” Endino struggled to find impact on his Lancelot, finishing with only one assist and four deaths as Twisted failed to claim a single major objective.

Twisted answered back in Game 2 behind MPtheKing’s redemption arc. The jungler dropped five kills with his signature Lancelot in a 13-minute win, supported by John Carlo “Caloy” Roma’s debut Kaja (0/1/7). Aurora’s triple marksman draft of Yi Sun-shin, Kimmy, and Roger never found traction, taking only two turrets compared to Twisted’s eight.

But in the deciding Game 3, Edward Jay “Edward” Dapadap’s Lapu-Lapu powered Aurora to a 13-minute closer. Edward notched five kills and six assists as the Northern Lights suffocated Twisted Minds, holding them to just two kills and limited jungle control. MPtheKing was repeatedly shut down, falling six times under Aurora’s relentless pressure.

Aurora (now 3-1) looks ahead to a Sunday clash with TNC Pro Team, while Twisted Minds (3-2) face no respite as they battle ONIC Philippines next.

ONIC Philippines Crush Falcons in Straight Games

ONIC Philippines wasted no time against struggling Team Falcons PH, storming to a 16-minute win in Game 1. Rising star jungler King Cyric “K1NGKONG” Perez was unstoppable on Fanny, tallying nine kills and four assists while securing every major objective.

Frince “Super Frince” Ramirez bossed midlane control with a 3/1/8 performance, while Falcons found little footing despite Rowgien “Owgwen” Unigo’s Grock trying to hold the line.

K1NGKONG carried his momentum into Game 2 with a clean Hayabusa performance (5/1/7) in an 18-minute finish.

Falcons showed more resistance this time — Marco “Super Marco” Requitiano’s Ruby managed two kills and five assists, while Edferdz “Ferdz” Fernandez returned to the active roster with Esmeralda (2/1/1). But their lack of late-game firepower sealed their fate as ONIC pressed for a sweep.

The win keeps ONIC at the top of the standings with a great 3-1 record, while Falcons slip to 1-4, stuck at the bottom of the table.
