Tom & Jerry join Acecraft’s late August global launch
MOONTON Games will officially launch Acecraft worldwide on 28 August, bringing players the world’s first fully hand-drawn, two-player co-op vertical shooter on mobile. To celebrate, the studio is packing the launch with in-game events, exclusive rewards, and the game’s first crossover: the arrival of Tom & Jerry in Cloudia.
The cat-and-mouse chase takes flight
The timeless rivalry of Tom & Jerry spills into Acecraft’s skies, where the duo crash Cloudia with their signature slapstick chaos. The crossover unfolds through limited-time events that fold the iconic cat-and-mouse antics into Acecraft’s co-op bullet hell — a move that signals MOONTON’s ambition to grow the title as a living IP.
Launch week will also reward early adventurers with exclusive items, bonuses, and themed prizes. These rewards build on the pre-registration campaign, giving new pilots a boost as they take to the skies against the Nightmare Legion.
Hand-drawn heroes, praised by a legend
Acecraft’s heart lies in its eight Ace Pilots, brought to life through frame-by-frame hand-drawn animation. Their designs fuse slapstick comedy, expressive motion, and mechanical flair — a rare personality-driven approach in the shoot’em up genre.
Legendary animator John Pomeroy, best known for his work on Tom & Jerry, praised the cast after previewing the game. “I think the animation is terrific… I see glimmers of the acting and personality of the characters. That’s the hard part. I’m really impressed with the animation in Acecraft.”
To mark the launch, MOONTON will release a behind-the-scenes feature with Pomeroy himself. In it, he reflects on rubber hose animation’s power to breathe personality into characters, shares his perspective on Acecraft’s designs, and even sketches Joey, one of the eight Ace Pilots, in his trademark style.
Cloudia: a world under siege
At the core of Acecraft is Cloudia, a floating world besieged by the Nightmare Legion. Players begin aboard the Ark of Hope, a massive airship and humanity’s last line of defense.
Every island of Cloudia offers a new theme and danger: Sweetopia is torn apart by warring desserts, Ghost Swamp hides cursed spirits in its fog, and Wonderland lures players into shifting mazes of trickster foes. Each battle introduces distinct challenges, ensuring every mission feels like a new fight for the Key of Destiny.
