ONIC Philippines advance to MSC 2025 playoffs; KO matchups set

RIYADH – ONIC Philippines heads to the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Mid Season Cup 2025 playoffs after a clean 2-0 sweep over Malaysia’s HomeBois on Sunday inside the Amazon Esports Arena.

The M6 World Champions stuck to their textbook form: trading objectives over kills, waiting for power spikes, and capitalizing on crucial game moments to seal the deal.

Calculated comeback in Game 1

HomeBois found momentum early, with EyyMal’s Joy picking up five kills in just 13 minutes. But ONIC PH remained composed. Duane “Kelra” Pillas on Granger and Cyric “K1NGKONG” Perez on Lancelot hit their spikes mid-game, opening up turrets and forcing HomeBois into uncomfortable map positions.

Frince “SuperFrince” Ramirez provided key initiations with Luo Yi, helping flip the game’s tempo. ONIC surged in the late game, and Kelra’s 4/1/3 performance sealed the opener.

ONIC control pace in Game 2

Game 2 saw tighter skirmishes. HomeBois once again took an early kill lead, but ONIC’s mobile lineup, anchored by K1NGKONG’s Fanny, created pressure across the map.

Despite losing the Lord at nine minutes, ONIC had already knocked down two turrets and set the pace. They closed the game out in the 17th minute after back-to-back successful clashes. SuperFrince once again shined with 3 kills and 10 assists.

Playoff bracket confirmed

With the win, ONIC Philippines joined Aurora Türkiye, Selangor Red Giants OG Esports, and ONIC Indonesia as the second-seeded teams from the group stage.

They join Team Liquid PH, RRQ Hoshi, Mythic SEAL, and Team Spirit, who all swept their respective groups.

The top-seeded squads selected their quarterfinal opponents:

• Team Liquid PH (fastest win time) picked Aurora Türkiye

• RRQ Hoshi selected defending MSC champs Selangor Red Giants

• Team Spirit opted to face ONIC Philippines

• Mythic SEAL are left to face ONIC Indonesia

The MSC 2025 playoffs kick off on July 30, with Team Liquid PH vs Aurora Türkiye opening the quarterfinals.
