Virtus.Pro, Rare Atom Advance to MSC 2025 Wildcard Finals
RIYADH – Eastern Europe’s Virtus.Pro and China’s Rare Atom are now one win away from securing the final slot in the Mid Season Cup 2025 main stage after sweeping their respective semifinal matches in the Wildcard bracket.
Both squads delivered convincing 2-0 victories to set up a best-of-five final clash on Sunday.
Virtus.Pro Outsmart MongolZ
The Eastern European side leaned on execution to take down Mongolia’s The MongolZ, who earlier swept Vietnam’s Legion Esports to reach the crossover semis.
Game 1 featured a bold triple-marksman setup with Yi Sun-Shin, Clint, and Kimmy. The dreaded combo capitalized on The MongolZ’s inability to control the early game.
Dmitry “Bober” Belyaev and Egor “superegorka” Bugaev led the damage charts with a combined 13 kills and 18 assists. Stand-in Andrew “Andoryuuu” Flora added five more to push VP to a 1-0 lead.
The MongolZ responded with a surprise Barats jungle pick from Bilguun “Zetsu” Zagd-Ochir and a Diggie from Turbayar “Shenlynn” Bulgan to try and stall VP’s tempo. The sustain-heavy approach, however, lacked punch in the midgame, opening the door for a snowball.
Denis “BadKot” Bogomolov’s Phoveus punished their grouped-up plays with a 9/0/3 statline, closing the game in just 12 minutes and sending VP to the finals.
Rare Atom Dismantles Influence Rage
Rare Atom looked laser-focused in their 2-0 takedown of Influence Rage, showcasing dominant teamfighting and map control to book their ticket to the wildcard finals.
Game 1 was all China from the start, with a clean 11–4 victory in 13 minutes. Diego “Jotun” Moya’s Fredrinn was neutralized early and often, falling three times as the Chinese side built an insurmountable lead.
Game 2 offered no respite for the Latin American squad. Pablo “Pakitoo” Balog’s Chou had a quiet outing, finishing with a 0/6/4 KDA as Rare Atom methodically dismantled their setups.
Wang “Mikey” Zixuan’s Moskov starred again with four kills and six assists. The gold laner carried his team in a 15–6 win in under 14 minutes to complete the sweep.
