Master the Basics, Dex Star talk about their MSC 2025 stint with Aurora Türkiye

MANILA — Aurora Gaming stunned fans after announcing that Aniel “Master the Basics” Jiandani and Dexter “Dex Star” Alaba will represent Aurora Türkiye at the Esports World Cup in Riyadh.

The duo will reinforce the team’s coaching staff for the MLBB Mid Season Cup, joining the Turkish champions during their ongoing bootcamp in Malaysia.

“Tinanong namin if gusto ba ng Aurora Türkiye or management lang ang magde-decide,” Master the Basics opened when they got the chance.

“Na-excite talaga kasi kahit hindi kami pinalad sa Philippines, (suddenly) may opportunity pala,” Dex Star said. “At the same time challenging din siya lalo na sa language barrier kasi some of them hindi talaga nag-e-English or kailangan pa ng middleman.”

Both coaches were part of Aurora Gaming’s MPL Philippines Season 15 campaign, where they narrowly missed qualifying for international play.

“Updated pa rin kami sa mga nangyayari ng meta ngayon. The same time, yung POV. Kasi may POV sa Philippines, Indonesia, siyempre, paano ang POV ng Turkish towards the SEA?” he said.

Master the Basics echoed his co-coach’s thoughts, emphasizing how new viewpoints can help build their team back home.

Aurora follows familiar intra-org practice

Intra-organizational cooperation is not new in esports. ONIC Philippines trained in Jakarta with their Indonesian counterparts. Meanwhile, Team Falcons in MENA brought in Francis “Ducky” Glindro as their MSC coach.

The two coaches have shared their opinion now that Aurora Gaming is doing the same practice.

“Good thing siya kasi yung Aurora, nagiging resourceful,” Dex Star added. “Since same umbrella naman kami, magagamit nila yung mga practices na meron kami sa Pilipinas.”

“Yung batuhan ng information, knowledge, kung ano man ang pinag-usapan, within the org lang.”

Focused on their MSC campaign

Despite not qualifying through the Philippines, both coaches remain determined. Both were looking to have a deep run with their team in the EWC.

“Galingan lang namin. I think kakayanin namin maka-lason sa MSC,” MTB said.

“Support niyo pa rin kami, lalo na yung mga fans ng Aurora PH. Hindi man kami nakapag-EWC through PH, hopefully, makakuha kami ng magandang spot sa Riyadh.” added Dex Star.
