QUEZON CITY, Philippines – Filipino squad Rough World Era saw their Honor of Kings Invitational Season 3 run come to an early end after suffering a 1-3 defeat against Indonesia’s Bigetron Sigma on Monday at SM North EDSA’s The Block Atrium.

The third-placers from the HOK Invitational S3 Philippine Qualifiers showed resilience after snatching Game 3, but they couldn’t maintain their momentum, ultimately bowing out of the tournament.

Tufzzz Dominates Early for Bigetron

Bigetron’s clash laner, Taufik “Tufzzz,” stole the show in the opening two games.

In Game 1, Tufzzz’s Guan Yu spearheaded Bigetron’s narrow victory, securing six kills and four assists. However, a crucial clash near the Shadow Tyrant’s lair turned the tide, as Rough World Era’s John Phillex “Daniii” Bulandadi and Pon “7Gin” Yi Heng fell, sealing the win for Indonesia.

Bigetron carried their momentum into Game 2, with Tufzzz switching to Dharma and leading a dominant 18-7 victory. Rough World Era’s Daniii struggled on Lady Sun, finishing with six deaths and only two assists, while So George “Zaan” Fredericho’s Loong outmaneuvered him throughout the match.

Filipino Squad Fights Back in Game 3

Rough World Era refused to go down without a fight, forcing a Game 4 with a hard-fought 22-minute victory.

Homer “Fleur” Matol’s signature Sun Bin pick was instrumental, tallying 14 assists, while Daniii redeemed himself on Marco Polo with seven kills. However, the standout was 7Gin, who earned the Man of the Match title with four kills and four assists on Dharma, making crucial game-saving plays to keep the Filipino squad alive.

Bigetron Ends Rough World Era’s Run

Despite the strong resistance in Game 3, Rough World Era’s hopes were crushed in Game 4, as Bigetron sealed the series with a swift 10-2 victory in just 13 minutes.

Yong “ZhanQ” Zhan Quan’s Jing led the charge, participating in all eliminations with four kills and seven assists. This time, 7Gin struggled on Biron, failing to register a single kill or assist, as Bigetron secured total map control by the ninth minute.

Knockout Stage Set for High-Stakes Battles

With the top eight teams finalized, the knockout stage will feature a single-elimination format with best-of-seven series for all matches.

The Filipino powerhouse Blacklist International, the top seed from Group A, will face off against Myanmar’s Impunity, continuing their long-standing regional rivalry. Meanwhile, Group D winners Nongshim RedForce will take on fellow Philippine squad Elevate, setting up an exciting showdown between Korea and the home favorites.

Elsewhere, an all-Malaysian clash awaits as Group C winners Nova Esports battle All Gamers Global, the second seed from Group B. Finally, European giants Team Vitality will put their skills to the test against Bigetron Sigma, who will look to carry their momentum from the group stage into the single-elimination bracket.
