Blacklist International Stifles Smart Omega Advances to the Next Round

The first upset of the MPL Philippines Season 14 happened in the very first round. Eight seed Blacklist International took down the third seed Smart Omega. The codebreakers returned to their aggressive form relentlessly invading Smart Omega’s jungle. The return to their bread and butter their UBE (Ultimate Bonding Experience) Strategy to keep the barangay off balance.

The First Game

The first game started out as the codebreakers took the initiative and became aggressive setting the tone of the game. They kept the barangay off balance all thru out the early game leading to the first lord of the game. taking the first game in just over 10 minutes.

The Second Game

The second game started out the same with their clear strategy of invading the jungle and still keeping their opponents off balance with timely team fights and implementing their will and playing well with in the game. Quite literally it was a battle of who will impose their will on the game. The code breakers were able to implement their game plan and execute properly ignoring their cheese picks. Implementing and executing their game plan thus leading to the second win and brings them to match point.

The Third Game

Win or go home time. Smart omega was done but was not yet out during the third game. Smart Omega took control of the mid game and were totally dominant with a more than 4k gold lead. It looks like that Smart Omega was going to take the third game. It all boiled down to the one fateful lord fight where Blacklist International took the initiative, it was Smart Omega who took the lord but it was the code breakers who won the team fight taking down 3 members of the barangay.

Blacklist International Stifles Smart Omega in their first match. Coach Bon Chan gave all the credit to the members of the team. Their preparation was on point, their discipline was on point, it was a whole new Blacklist international who entered the playoffs.
