A Day of Shock Twists and Early Exit in MSC 2023
A Day of Shock Twists and Early Exit in MSC 2023
Day Two of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asia Cup (MSC) 2023 was a day of upsets and early exits.
In the first match of the day, TODAK defeated Team Occupy 2-0 to secure their spot in the top two of Group D. TODAK’s strong team fight execution was too much for Team Occupy to handle, despite the latter’s focus on objectives.
RSG Slate SG also made quick work of RRQ Hoshi, winning 2-0 to send the defending champions home early. RSG Slate SG’s aggressive playstyle caught RRQ Hoshi off guard, and they were unable to mount a comeback.
The biggest upset of the day came when ECHO Express lost to FIMP 2-1. FIMP, a team from Türkiye, had never won a match against a top-tier Southeast Asian team before. However, they played out of their minds against ECHO Express, and they were able to pull off the upset.
ECHO Express bounced back in the third match, winning 2-0 to secure their spot in the top two of Group A. However, the loss to FIMP will be a wake-up call for the Orcas. They will need to be at their best if they want to win the MSC 2023 title.
The other two matches on Day Two were both won by the favorites. EVOS Legends defeated Siren Esports 2-0, and ONIC Esports defeated Team Outplay 2-1.
Tomorrow, the top two teams from each group will advance to the playoffs. The first round of the playoffs will be a single-elimination bracket, with the winners advancing to the semifinals. The semifinals and finals will be best-of-three series.
The MSC 2023 is the biggest Mobile Legends tournament in Southeast Asia. The winner will earn US$300,000.
Now things are just getting exciting.
